Award-Winning Documentary Far East Deep South Returns to National PBS Broadcast on WORLD Channel

Audiences across the United States will have another opportunity to watch our award-winning documentary Far East Deep South when it broadcasts nationally on WORLD Channel, the public media network carried by PBS stations nationwide beginning June 4th, 2026.

Far East Deep South follows The Chiu family and their emotional journey to uncover their family’s roots in the Mississippi Delta. What begins as a search for family history becomes a powerful exploration of race, identity, immigration, and the often-overlooked story of Chinese Americans in the American South.

The film has resonated with audiences across the country through community screenings, educational programs, and national broadcasts, sparking conversations about belonging, intergenerational healing, and the diverse stories that shape American history.
