In celebration of Women\u2019s History Month<\/em>, Giant Flashlight Media<\/strong> is proud to present an exclusive virtual Q&A event featuring Virginia Wing<\/strong>, a trailblazing 87-year-old Chinese American actress and singer<\/strong> whose remarkable career has spanned over six decades in film, television, and theater. The event will take place online on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Eastern Time.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moderated by Larissa Lam<\/strong>, award-winning filmmaker and director of the upcoming documentary Who\u2019s Afraid of Virginia Wing?<\/em>, the conversation will offer audiences an intimate look into Virginia Wing\u2019s storied career \u2014 from appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson<\/em> in the 1960s, to starring in the ill-fated Broadway-bound musical Chu Chem<\/em>, to her recent critical success in the Off-Broadway production of Uncle Vanya<\/em>. Wing will also reflect on her upbringing in the small town of Marks, Mississippi<\/strong>, and the challenges she faced as an Asian American woman in the entertainment industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to celebrating Wing\u2019s groundbreaking career, the Q&A will also offer attendees a first look at the highly anticipated documentary Who\u2019s Afraid of Virginia Wing?<\/em>, which explores themes of stereotyping, sexism, and ageism<\/strong> in the entertainment industry through the eyes of Wing herself. The film, currently in production, seeks to inspire conversations around representation and inclusion<\/strong> in media and will highlight Wing\u2019s perseverance in breaking down barriers for women and Asian American performers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
